Lure Coursing

Future Events

Desert Fun Bunch has AKC Lure Coursing at Elfrida, AZ on April 26th, Saturday. Premium List

For our next lure coursing trial in the fall we will try doing all of the paperwork on a laptop computer. Something new! We also are buying a new motor to replace the burned out one. Jane Gentzen is working on finding a new practice field that would be fenced.

The lure coursing weekend at the Canada Del Oro shows in Tucson was busy but successful. We held a JC test and a trial on Saturday and a JC test and fun runs for any breed on Sunday. About 50 dogs of many breeds tried coursing. Since we were right on the show grounds people at the show had been coming by all day Saturday. So much interest was generated that they came back on Sunday & brought dogs and friends. At one point there was a large cheering section watching. Some dogs decided not to chase that bag, others ran part way, and some did better than some sighthounds. Two of the best were a border terrier and a Boston terrier. Some dogs had so much fun that their owners came back for extra runs. Thanks to everyone who helped.
